Yonja Security Tips

We are an international online community that connects people to new people through their friends for dating, making new friends, and more... It is important for us to help our users feel good and be secure on this social platform. We observe that sometimes people with bad intentions become Yonja members (as it happens in most social environments). It is important for us to protect our users from such people.

We have prepared a list of security tips based on the feedback we received from our users and our own experience. Please review the below security tips to ensure a safer and more enjoyable experience with Yonja.

  • With Yonja you can meet new people and make new friends. But if the people who you just met, want something that can cause you harm then please think of your self first. For example if someone you just met in Yonja wants to borrow money from you, please think twice before you lend them money. Please don't forget that only you, yourself, are responsible for any harm that you might experience

  • It is not appropriate to become a Yonja member for anyone under 18. The profiles which are owned by users, who are under 18, can be deleted without any warning. Parents should know that we don't allow people under 18 to become Yonja members. But we can not verify someone's age when he or she joins Yonja. If you find out that your child is a Yonja member and pretending like he or she is older than 18, please contact us immediately. It's very important for us to help you keep your children safe online.

  • While it's fun to meet new people online, always remember that the friends you make online should NEVER replace people you know and are friends with in real life. No matter how often you have chatted with someone or how much you think you know about them, you never really know who you are chatting with online. This person might lie to you about his/her job or even gender.

  • You might decide to meet someone you know from Yonja. But this person might have introduced himself/herself very differently than who he/she really is. So it is possible to be disappointed. You should be prepared for all possibilities. Shopping Malls, popular places and crowded cafes are more suitable for meeting such new friends. It will be smart to take a trusted friend with you when you're going to meet this person. Please do not hesitate to leave if you feel like the person is lying to you during your date.

  • We recommend that you do not to publish your personal contact information on your Yonja profile. By personal contact information we mean your telephone number, your address, your fax number, your personal or business email etc. Don't forget that the information you published on your profile can be seen by all Yonja members. The profiles that contain such personal information can be deleted without any warning.

  • We take precautions to prevent our users' pictures being copied. But please don't forget that, it is technically not possible to prevent picture copying completely. If you see someone is using your photo(s) on Yonja, please warn him/her with an appropriate language. If you get a negative or inappropriate respond, please report this user to us from his/her profile.

  • You must use your own credit card to buy your Yonja Gold membership or activate a Yonja Token Account. Don't ever use anyone else's credit card. Your account can be deleted without any warning if you do that.

  • Never share your credit card information with anyone. Don't allow your friends to use your credit card. Your account and your friend's account can get deleted without any warning if you do that.

  • Yonja has participated in social projects in the past and is sensitive about social solidarity. Yonja users do not have any obligations to participate in such projects. Therefore if someone tells you that they need your help or wants money from you, please let us know first. We may investigate these people and try to find out if they really need any kind of help.

  • If someone sends you a spam message please let us know. Please don't reply to spam messages. Don't add such people who are sending you spam messages as your fiends

  • If you get an inappropriate message from someone, please don't answer to his or her message. If there are people bothering you, please inform us about those users. This will help us to find them and delete their profiles from Yonja if necessary.

  • All Yonja members have the same rights. None of the Yonja members have access to the security system of Yonja. It's not possible for any user to provide you with a free Gold Membership or Yonja Tokens. Yonja team communicates with you through the Yonja system messages. Yonja team never sends you any type of message from a Yonja user profile. If anybody attempts to trick you, please do not reply to that user and please inform us about that user.

  • Here is some advice to protect your Yonja account. You can easily increase the security level of your account by practicing the below tips:

    • Never share your Yonja Password with anybody.

    • Never share the password of your email account which is registered on Yonja as your username.

    • If you login to Yonja from a public place such as school, internet cafe, workplace, friends house, etc., don't forget to click "Logout" when you are leaving Yonja.

    • Please always log into Yonja by using the "Log In" link on www.yonja.com. This will help prevent unauthorized entities to get access to your username and password information.

    • It's very important that you use an updated Anti Virus program. Please update your Anti Virus program and scan your personal computer frequently.

    • Please make sure to scan all received files even files you receive from your close friends.

We believe that you will be able to find answers to many of your security concerns and questions by using common sense and prudence.

Thanks for using Yonja,
Yonja Team
